School Information

Thank you for taking the time to visit our school website.  We hope that you find it both informative and useful.

Weston Rhyn Primary School is a welcoming and friendly school situated at the heart of the village of Weston Rhyn, between Oswestry and Chirk, on the Shropshire/North Wales border.  Children also attend the school from Chirk Bank, Rhosweil, Bronygarth and other surrounding villages and towns.

Our school was opened in 1926 as an 'All-age' school.  We are fortunate to have a large school site with six classrooms in the main building, two classrooms in our EYFS building (which is also home to a privately managed playgroup in the afternoon), two playgrounds, a field and a forest school area.

Classrooms are spacious, light and welcoming with quiet learning spaces available for children to access throughout the school.  Our EYFS building contains a 26 place Nursery and a Reception class.

Our staff and governors are fully committed to ensuring that all children feel happy, safe and well-supported in our school in order for them to reach their full potential.  We want our children to be excited about coming to school.  As a community school, it is important for us to provide our children with a diverse range of learning opportunities; broadening horizons and widening experiences.

Building positive relationships with our parents and carers and involving them in their children’s learning is fundamental, and we encourage their contribution to the life and work of the school.

If you are moving to the area and considering Weston Rhyn Primary School as a school for your child, we would be delighted to show you around. Please contact us for further information.

We look forward to welcoming you into our school.
