Our History curriculum at Weston Rhyn aims to inspire pupils’ curiosity to know more about the past, develop a knowledge and understanding of Britain’s past and that of the wider world using a range of progressive skills. Pupils should develop key skills and use a range of historical vocabulary to ask insightful questions, contemplate critically, deliberate evidence, sifting arguments and develop perspective and judgments. Our History curriculum supports children to understand the complexity of people’s lives, the process of change (and the effects of this), the diversity of societies and the relationships between different groups, as well as their own identity, values and understanding the challenges of their time.
