Attendance

We are proud to be an Inclusive Attendance School, where every child’s presence, wellbeing and individuality are valued.  Through our commitment to the Inclusive Attendance Programme, we focus on understanding the reasons behind absence and work proactively with families to remove barriers and provide the right support. Our approach places relationships, empathy and early intervention at the heart of improving attendance, ensuring that all pupils feel safe, welcomed and motivated to come to school each day.  By celebrating positive attendance, offering tailored support and working in close partnership with parents and external agencies, we create a nurturing environment where every child can flourish and enjoy full access to the rich learning experiences our school provides.

The law entitles every child of compulsory school age to an efficient, full-time education suitable to their age, aptitude, and any special educational need they may have. It is the legal responsibility of every parent to make sure their child receives that education either by attendance at a school or by education other than at a school.

Where parents decide to have their child registered at school, they have an additional legal duty to ensure their child attends that school regularly. This means their child must attend every day that the school is open, except in a small number of allowable circumstances, such as being too ill to attend or being given permission for an absence in advance from the school.
