You can help us model excellent relationships to the children (Parent Behaviour):
At Weston Rhyn Primary School we are very fortunate to have a parent/carer body which is extremely supportive and friendly. We have excellent relationships with our parents and value the contribution that parents play in the life of the school and in their children’s education. We recognise that the success of the school is dependent on a strong partnership between all members of the school community: pupils, parents and staff. This partnership must be based on a polite, positive and respectful relationship.
Equally, we strongly believe that staff and parents are fully entitled to a safe and protective environment at all times, in the same way as the children.
Any behaviour that causes harassment, alarm or distress to users of the premises is contrary to the aims of the school and so, the school has a parental behaviour policy in place, to ensure that behaviour from parents does not cause the children, staff or other parents in school to feel distressed, threatened or unsafe.
This policy covers very, very rare occasions where things have gone wrong and “usual” procedures may not have been followed by the parent concerned. We would always advise and remind parents that if they ever have an issue they would like to discuss in school, the procedure to follow is to speak to the staff member involved in the first instance so they can help you. This will solve most problems quickly and amicably. However, in the unlikely event that an issue remains unresolved after this, you can get in touch with the headteacher to discuss things of course.
