Medicines in School

Under the guidelines set out by Shropshire Council school staff are allowed to administer medication to a child as long as they have written permission from the child's parent/carer.

Any medication which needs to be given three times a day, can be administered at home.

Medication should be brought to the office in the morning by an adult.  They will be required to complete a form with clear instructions concerning dosage, time, etc.

Children needing inhalers for possible asthma problems should allow class teachers to retain them safely within the classroom. Children in Years 5 and 6 are allowed to keep inhalers in their tray or in a bag.

It is important that children take inhalers with them when going on class visits, trips or sporting activities.
